Pay Grade: 

  • Administer notification/ work orders, preventative maintenance program, RCFAs, and work administration.
  • Manage and facilitate engineering support training,
  • Track plant performance and to work with the Engineering Support or Die System manager to improve machine performance through design changes,
  • Process and training through continuous improvements specifically in Engineering Support.
    • Notification/Activity report Process
      • Assure all notifications/ Activity reports are entered properly (work with all individuals to train as needed)

     Work flow

      • Assure all WOs are completed properly (labor, parts, costs, etc…)(work with all individuals to train as needed)
      • Prioritize completion of needed work
    • Preventative Maintenance Program
      • Prepare for all PMs by gathering all notifications and work orders, prioritizing, assuring all necessary parts are in house, and putting together the PM priority list
    • RCFEs (Root Cause Failure Elimination)
    • Work and Administration
      • Review MMR drawings and put on website
      • Coordinate machine repairs
      • Assist Maintenance and Die Techs with troubleshooting issues
      • Coordinate shipment of equipment/parts other plants or vendors
      • Press & Gluer Performance Projects
      • On Call Support for Off Shifts / Weekends
      • Vacation / Call Off Fill in Support
      • Production departments Trouble Shooting Support
      • Help facilitate and develop inhouse training program

    • Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
    • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
    • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
    • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
    • Go through the previous night’s recaps and look for items that might not yet be resolved or items where people might have used parts that may not have gotten issued. Research any parts needed from the previous night to make sure that they get ordered.
    • Go through SAP and correct open and closed work orders with the correct functional locations and to make sure that time is confirmed, and parts are issued
    • Add items entered in SAP to the list of items to complete on the weekend or during the week if there is downtime on the machines
    • Check inventory of shipping labels and order if needed
    • Check inventory of glue and order if needed
    • Makes requisitions for Sun Chemical items monthly
    • Makes requisitions as needed for other vendors to order parts and supplies for the maintenance department
    • Research and develop specifications for parts for projects and needed repairs
    • Troubleshoot ongoing problems in different areas of the plant and research parts needed to repair these items
    • Schedule repairs needed from SAP notifications made from PM’s and floor associates as needed.
    • Maintain the weekend repair list and weekly day to day repair list spreadsheet of items that can be repaired as downtime is scheduled on the machines
    • Help with daily repairs of maintenance items as needed
    • Help maintain the maintenance emergency tool box with items needed to make specialized repairs
    • Help to maintain SAP outstanding work order list by scheduling repairs and making sure that items get closed out that are completed
    • Works with contractors on a regular basis to schedule needed repairs by outside resources that we don’t have the time or resources to make to maintain plant equipment
    • Leads special projects as needed and schedules outside vendors and contractors as needed to get those done in a timely and efficient manner
    • Always looking for ways to save the plant money and downtime by looking for ways to make processes and tasks more efficient
    • Always looking for ways to make processes and tasks safer to perform as needed by performing hazard mitigations when unsafe items are found
    • Assist the Electrical Engineer with PLC and other electrical items that need to be performed as needed
    • Assist the maintenance team with electrical issues as needed
    • Helps to maintain equipment electrical drawings and makes sure that those drawings are readily available when making repairs
    • Helps in scheduling repairs for items found during vibration analysis and infrared inspections by our group and by outside contractors
    • Works to get vendors set up that help our process to work more efficiently by offering the services that we need on a regular basis
    • Works with and provides training for maintenance employees on electrical items and other areas of training as needed
    • Researches and seeks out training materials and resources for our maintenance department training program
    • Provides after hours support as needed for the maintenance department as needed on the phone or in person as needed
    • Works with maintenance and engineering manager to help maintain budgetary items by helping to prioritize items to be moved around to help maintain a balanced budget
    • Works with printing and finishing operations to schedule emergency repairs as needed as quickly as possible.
    • Works closely with vendors and maintains a good relationship with them to get emergency parts shipped to us in a timely manner- sometimes overnight -as needed.
    • Stays familiar with old and new processes and equipment in the plant to maintain troubleshooting and repair techniques for those processes and equipment
    • Always looking for new processes and equipment to replace obsolete and soon to be obsolete processes and equipment
    • Helps to maintain current PLC programs and equipment for our processes and equipment and tries to make sure that those programs are available as needed

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma, GED
  • 5 Years Engineering Support experience preferred
  • Ability to use a computer proficiently, including SAP, MS Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Ability to work any shift, including 12 hours, evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work compulsory mandatory overtime as required
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and tasks, with equipment downtime taking first priority
  • Ability to work safe in stressful situations
