Title:  Production Supervisor Night Shift

JOB SUMMARY: Direct the safe and effective operation of the employees and equipment in the plant in order to meet customer delivery and quality expectations, aligning with the Plant's safety, cultural, financial and operational objectives

JOB FUNCTIONS: 

* Be viewed as the departments safety advocate.

Communicate with the employees on a daily basis & Follow up on open issues.

Enforce all plant rules & policies.

Issue timely disciplinary action in accordance with established guidelines.

* Focus efforts on continuous improvement.

Challenge speed limit factors on machines and crews.

Implement all best demonstrated practices across the operation.

Hold passdown meetings with department managers.

* Provide periodic performance feedback & counseling to employees.

Other duties as assigned.


Required Skills

BACKGROUD/EXPERIENCE:

3-5 years of progressive production supervision, preferably in a unionized work setting.

Problem Solving Skills and Mechanical Aptitude are preferred.

Ability to work with people.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Four-year degree preferred, or closely related work experience required in lieu of degree.

SCHEDULE/DEMANDS:

Grand Rapids currently operates the following supervisor schedule

- Five eight hour shifts per week 11pm - 7am, three to four hours per day weekend coverage every 6 weeks
