Title: Finishing Operator

The Production Machine Operator will safely control various machines and equipment involved in production.
Job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Operates production machinery in accordance with company standards
- Make-ready, adjusts and runs job as efficiently as possible to meet safety and productivity standards
- Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances
- Obtains job tickets and reviews prior to running orders
- Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications
- Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces
- Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance
- Maintains a clean, safe and orderly work area
- Ensures that appropriate contact relief is made, and machine hands-off occurs during shift changes
- Works as a leader of the crew, overseeing operator assistants, feeders, packers, and inspectors working on the machine

- Ability to troubleshoot, adjust and debug to finalize most machine lines required in-house or at the customer’s facility
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing practices and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret and translate designs and documentation
- Basic mechanical ability to adjust the equipment to maximize production and ensure quality standards are met or exceeded
- Ability to match or detect differences between colors
- Maintain cooperative working relationships, demonstrates a positive attitude and consideration towards fellow employees and supervision
- Perform all duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer and data entry skills

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Must be able to use hand and eye coordination while operating equipment at high speeds. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch and or crawl. Employees must be able to pass the following exams:
- Physical
- Agility
- Vision – Depth & Vision
- The employee is frequently required to lift or carry 10 to 25 pounds and occasionally required to lift or carry 26 to 50 pounds.
Required Experience

- Highschool Diploma or GED preferred
- Operator Assistant qualified to a 3 rating or better for all 4 Levels (or 1 year experience as machine operator in a manufacturing environment)
- Must have extensive knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic components
- Experience working with a Bobst Die Cutter, Flexographic Printers, and Offset Printers preferred
