Misc. Machines II (Machine Utility Specialist) JOB SUMMARY:

Misc. Machines II (Machine Utility Specialist) performs general housekeeping in assigned areas and assists in safe/efficient operation of assigned equipment.

The position is an entry level manufacturing position and is intended to be used for “flex” purposes to allow maximum training and development. Employee can be assigned to a variety of production tasks within the parameters of the union contract at the Production Supervisor’s discretion. This position should have special emphasis on ensuring a focus on training on all manufacturing equipment within the finishing department.

Direct manufacturing supervision given, with specific and detailed instructions provided.

Misc. Machines II (Machine Utility Specialist) Job Functions

1. Observes company safety rules and complies with safety practices.

2. Performs general housekeeping functions in assigned production areas.

3. Assists in safe and efficient production operation of assigned manufacturing equipment.

4. Fully Qualified to operate the Gullotine and Banding Equipment

5. Turns Palletized WIP and Raw Material as needed for Die Cutters

6. When turning loads - Removing defective sheets from loads and ensruing production material is marked compliant with manufacturing diagrams

7. When turing loads - Assist Press manufacturing operations with the removal and replacement of dies/plates and strippers.

8. When turning loads - Ensure wates carts are emplied.

9. Uses Banding Machine to support manufacturing operations and production requirments

10. Ensures that product quality, production efficiencies, and scrap rates meet or exceed established manufacturing standards.

11. Responsible for compliance with all facility production and product safety standards to include food safety, food defense, and quality policies.

12. Support machine operations as assigned by manufacturing department leadership

13. Must be supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork).

14. Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and production processes.

15. Performs all other duties as assigned.

16. Strives to clearly understand customer requirements and delivers results to meet or exceed customer expectations.

17. Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting food safety requirements.

18. Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting customer quality requirements.

Misc. Machines II (Machine Utility Specialist)

1. Must be fully qualified in all Machine Helper I duties

2. Fully Qualified to operate Air Hammer as required

3. Works on Bagger equipment bagging WIP/Stock and other material as required

4. Fully Qualified to use the Power Dolly as required

5. Qualified on SAP

6. Must be fully qualified in all Machine Helper I and II duties

7. Fully Qualified to operate the Federal Imprint Equipment as required

8. Fully Qualified and knowledgeable in WIP Placement Support and movement

9. Assists with Die Cutter Support as required

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Judgment and maturity – Average degree of both required

Physical/Mental Requirements

Frequent/strenuous physical effort (lifting, moving heavy objects, etc.) required.

Frequently exposed to conditions involving noise, fumes, and hazardous chemicals

Must be able to work overtime as required.
