The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for directing and managing a team of 3 supervisors and 50 employees to achieve operating goals and objectives consistent with plant and division objectives. The Manufacturing Manager directs the safe manufacture of products through the value stream at the lowest cost consistent with established specifications, quality, quantity and delivery.

 

This position will have full plant responsiblity for our night shift, with general working hours of 11pm-7am Monday-Friday.

 

Key Position Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Initiatives – EBITDA and Cash Targets

  1. Improve productivity and decrease waste through the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and projects
  2. Increase labor efficiency and utilization, including staffing and overtime
  3. Optimize inventory turns and reduce aged board inventory to meet cash targets

 

Growth Initiatives – Annual revenue

  1. Execute Voice of Customer initiatives at the facility level
  2. Achieve on-time delivery targets
  3. Drive successful onboarding of new and transfer business
  4. Ensure that customer specifications are consistently met or exceeded

 

Operational Effectiveness

  1. Meet or exceed standards for environmental, safety, working conditions and cleanliness through daily oversight and direction of management team
  2. Develop and implement processes and procedures to continually improve quality and reduce customer complaints   
  3. Manage spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume
  4. Manage value stream maintenance budget within parameters
  5. Provide support and coordination on facility capital projects

 

Organizational Effectiveness

  1. Drive and implement high performance management practices, including Lean Sigma, daily management processes and other related programs.
  2. Partner with HR function to hire, train and evaluate team members. Assess performance and take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.  Ensure compliance with current federal, state and local employment regulations.
  3. Establish group and individual accountabilities through annual goal planning and performance reviews.
  4. Develop talent through assignments, job rotations, promotions to build bench strength and succession planning
  5. Drive and support high performance culture employee involvement initiatives and practices. Build and maintain a productive and engaged relationship with hourly associates

 

Required Skills & Education

  1. Minimum 5-years experience in a manufacturing setting and experience, preferably in the folding carton industry.
  2. Experience working with high volume printing and converting equipment.
  3. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, successful track record in cost savings initiatives (Safety, Waste, Continuous Improvement)
  4. Computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word and ability to grasp the technical knowledge of all equipment.
  5. Ability to build high performing and collaborative teams

 

 

Salary Min:   $102,270.00

Salary Max:  $130,000
