​This highly visible leadership position, reporting to Plant Manager, is responsible for day-to-day management of the finishing department. Incumbent manages hourly production employees, interacting with all levels and aspects of the organization.  Promotes use of Lean Sigma processes to drive operational improvements and seeks to establish safe, highly involved, productive and world-class work environment. 

  • Participates in the development of a Continuous Improvement Plan 
  • Conduct internal audits as scheduled 
  • Directs safety, quality, and productivity of entire Finishing department 
  • Participates in corrective/preventive action processes 
  • Ensures appropriate materials are purchased 
  • Ensures employees within Finishing department have adequate training 
  • Ensures systems are in place for control of production schedules and waste levels 
  • Participate in Management Reviews 
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to all GMP, safety, food safety, SQF, HACCP and food defense procedures (training will be provided) 
  • Any other reasonable request from management 
  • QMS Mode Ownership. Ensure all requirements are implemented, monitored, and sustained. 

Required Skills


  • Experience in managing safety and environmental regulatory requirements. 
  • Supervisory experience in an organized environment. 
  • Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement implementation experience. 
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, develop, implement, and document systems for maintenance and control of products and processes.  
  • Mon – Fri occasional weekends  
  • 5% Travel  
  • Physical demands include bending, sitting, lifting, driving, being able to concentrate
  • Must be able to lift no more than 35 pounds as needed 
  • PPE required, hairnet, vest, earplugs and safety shoes (required on the manufacturing floor)  

Required Experience


  • Bachelor’s Degree, strongly preferred – Engineering or Printing/Manufacturing degree helpful 
  • 5 years of progressive management and supervision.
