Title:  Scheduler/Planner/Production I

  1. Responsible for physical scheduling of all machines and production activities for operating departments.
  2. Plans and orders raw material from approved vendors to support the production schedules for assigned departments.
  3. Responsible for monitoring raw materials and WIP inventory levels within established tolerances for items produced or purchased for the assigned operating department.
  4. Monitors and adjusts production schedules based on operational performance, material availability, or changes to the Master Schedule. Responsible for communicating all schedule changes to appropriate management and insuring raw materials, WIP inventory and tooling are available to support the change.
  5. Works directly with other departments and agencies to ensure items are available for scheduled jobs (Plates, Job Packets, Blankets, Ink etc.).
  6. Coordinates the activities associated with expediting raw materials.
  7. Performs functions of Material Master to build and maintain item numbers.
  8. Assists Accounting Department with revised pricing and corrects P.O. prices to avoid discrepancies on invoices.
  9. Responsible for compliance with all facility food safety, food defense, and quality policies and procedures including product safety (GMPs)/Sanitation policies and procedures. Employee must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area in support of AIB/5S and other company standards.
  10. Must be supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork).
  11. Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes.
  12. Performs all other duties as assigned.
  13. Strives to clearly understand customer requirements and delivers results to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  14. Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting food safety requirements.
  15. Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting customer quality requirements.
  16. Complete daily requisitions.
  17. Performs to or above daily, weekly, and monthly assigned metrics.
  18. Serves as liason to warehouse and customer service.

Required Skills

  • Prefer Technical School/1 Year College.
  • Requires P.C. spreadsheet, Excel, SAP, and MRP or scheduling experience.
  • Requires occasional physical effort (e.g., continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending, continuous data entry, etc.).

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, but requires some exposure to a noisy   manufacturing environment. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
