  • Performs basic preventive maintenance on facilities and facilities support equipment. Maintains exterior of building during summer and winter.  Performs facility repair work orders and facility upkeep as directed.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Utility workers as required to assure that specific job assignments are completed in a safe and timely fashion. To insure that work performed is at present skill level.
  • Previous experience in the consumer packaging and printing industry a plus.
  • Any of the following are a plus: Knowledge of equipment manufactured by KBA, Bobst, Jagenburg and other Industry equipment. 
  • We are a union environment, working a 3-2-2- schedule 7P-7A.

Required Skills

  • Safety – Works in a safe manner and assures co-workers work in a safe manner. Reports safety hazards immediately to appropriate individual.  Continues to expand safety awareness by participating in safety training programs.
  • Performs basic facility preventive maintenance, which includes production area Pest control abatement, filter changing on air conditioning units, cleaning air compressors, checking and correcting lubrication fluid levels on air compressors, chill water pumps, etc.
  • Performs facility repair type work orders. Including replacing lamps in lighting fixtures, repairs broken doorknobs, water leaks and painting.
  •         Responsible for seeing that the daily Janitorial duties are carried out throughout the Facility and maintained in an SQF compliance readiness.

    1. Responsible for working with the HSE Manager on overseeing the pickup and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
    2. Responsible for routine regulatory inspections per the HSE Manager in support of our Environmental and Safety Compliance programs.
    3. Job includes some travel to local vendors to deliver and pickup needed parts or materials. Also includes packaging of items to be sent out for repair or return from the Maintenance Services Department.

            Assists Craftsmen in basic preventive maintenance functions on production equipment.

    1. Displays good work habits that will set good examples for co-workers. Continually monitors and maintains work areas to keep them clean and well organized.
    2. Responsible for compliance with all facility food safety and quality policies and procedures including product safety (GMP’s)/Sanitation policies and procedures.  Employee must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area in support of AIB/5’s and other company standards.
    3. Must be supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork).
    4. Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5’s, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes.
    5. Performs all other duties as assigned.


    Required Experience

    Education – Basic:  High School or equivalent.   Specialized:  Basic electrical skills, basic mechanical skills, and basic carpentry skills.

     Experience:  Five year on the job experience as an electrician, mechanic or facility maintenance.

     Specialized knowledge, machines or equipment operated:  Volt meters, ammeters, ohmmeters, basic hand tools, (electric saw, electric drill, welder, etc.), and forklift driver’s license.  Environmental experience a plus.
