Maint/Plan/Sched III (Mill) – Weekly Planner



This position supports the Daily/Weekly maintenance planning functions and utilizes a systems approach to coordinate the estimating and planning of both mechanical and electrical work for the daily and weekly work. The scope of work will include job scoping, labor estimating, material identification and procurement for weekly and daily work.  Works closely with Supervisors and craftsmen to ensure GPI maintenance process is being followed.    Is also the backup to the outage planner and supervisor.

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include,but are not limited to the following.

  • Support planning activities for the area supervisor and area maintenance technicians
  • Create job plans for repetitive maintenance procedures
  • Manage SAP work order backlog for area of responsibility, including mechanical and electrical work orders
  • Attend/participate in all area safety related meetings/initiatives
  • Plan, estimate cost and completion time, schedule jobs in area of responsibility
  • Order and manage parts for work orders
  • Maintain professional working relationships with vendors.
  • Leads Daily/Weekly planning and scheduling activities
  • Maintain an accurate and up to date work order list in SAP using proper codes
  • Estimated hours by operation step
  • Ensure parts are delivered and on site for all planned work order
  • Meet all job planning package requirements
  • Bill of material management and optimization
  • Manage repairable / rebuilds

  • Minimum of 5 (five) years of Maintenance experience
  • Minimum of 2 (two)years on Maintenance Planning experience with knowledge of recognize maintenance planning practices.
  • Up to 20% travel requirement


  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of related training and experience


  • Ability to estimate man hours for maintenance work (electrical and mechanical)

  • General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Must be willing to work as of the weekend duty rotating schedule.
  • Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.
