MISSION/SUMMARY:

Graphic Packaging International currently has a Engineering and Maintenance Manager position available in our Kalamazoo Carton facility. This person is responsible to direct and control the activities of the maintenance function to ensure that all production and support equipment is maintained at levels which are as efficient and reliable as possible. The position includes the following responsibilities: 

Provide direct supervision, technical direction, administrative management, and leadership in the maintenance and engineering areas. Responsible for the management of all equipment, site, and facility maintenance and utilities.

 

Job Duties: 

 

  • Provide direct supervision, technical direction, administrative management, and leadership in the plant maintenance and engineering areas.
  • Ensures machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the building does not deteriorate
  • Manage plant-wide maintenance and capital, maximizing asset reliability, uptime, and cost effectiveness with available resources
  • Manage plant environmental programs to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations
  • Support and manage the RCM process in the plant, as well as, in the Division, ensuring application and advancement of the RCM process.
  • Hands on involvement with all PLC/Controls Programming projects (troubleshooting, modifying, upgrading, new programs). Including, Allen Bradley (500/5000), Siemens (S5,S7,TIA), Lenze, and IFM remote I/O.
  • Provide long-range planning for facility and equipment needs including capital and major repairs
  • Develops, implements, and oversees predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance programs
  • Uses other maintenance disciplines in the development and application of reliability engineering, root cause analysis and troubleshooting of equipment and processes
  • Coaches and develops training plans for all maintenance technicians
  • Supervises the Maintenance Supervisor, Storeroom, Controls Engineer, Process Engineer, and Planner functions
  • Qualify Vendors and Contractors and negotiate terms and conditions
  • Maintain department integrity through compliance of safety and food safety guidelines
  • Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International’s good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our strategic pillars: Innovation, Culture, Planet and Results.

Education/Knowledge Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred
  • 5 years maintenance experience preferred including:
      • Computer Maintenance Management Systems (preferably SAP)
      • Planning and Scheduling
      • Preventative/Predictive/Precision Maintenance
      • Central Stores Management
      • Reliability Engineering
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook and internet research skills
  • Proven track record of identifying opportunities and the ability to recommend and implement improvements
  • PLC/Controls Programming
  • Budgeting and negotiating skills
  • Project Management
  • Leader with exceptional communication skills, good organization, and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Previous environmental experience is a plus

 

 

Pay Range:   $104,325.00 - $139,100.00
