OPPORTUNITY: We are a Foodservice cup forming manufacturing operation seeking candidates to join our Kenton, Ohio team. We’re recruiting for multiple positions so be sure you review all of our job postings.  This job posting is for a Blanker Operator with a pay range of $18.00 to $19.75/hour plus shift differential and progressive pay increases. JOB SUMMARY: While adhering to the department schedule, the Blanker Operator will produce blanks, remove blanks from the machine and hand-pack blanks onto carts to be transported by Warehouse employees. They will ensure product quality through visual inspection and adjusting the machine as needed. They understand and align business operations and Blanking Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

WORK SCHEDULE: Night Shift 7:00 P.M. – 7:00 A.M. (either C or D shift)

Must be willing and able to work nights and weekends 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Work within and adhere to GPI’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork.
  • Pack finished blanks by hand into cart and complete required paperwork; once full, push cart to staging area to be retrieved by Warehouse.
  • Follow blanker schedule and prep paper rolls. Communicate with materials handler to ensure appropriate materials are on hand; utilize roll pusher to roll paper to into place.
  • Splice paper and monitor roll levels making adjustments as needed.
  • Remove blanked paper and ensure quality of print and product; adjust machine as needed to correct quality and production issues
  • Maintain housekeeping and ensure work area and equipment are kept clean.
  • Responsible for assuring production of products consistent with established food safety, sanitation and quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

  • The Blanker Operator schedule is 12-hour shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off. However, employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Some Departments/Jobs may run a M-F 8-hour Shift Schedule.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sitting or standing, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods.
  • Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
  • Routine Lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Push/pull blank cart on wheels with up to 1,200 lb. load.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.
  • Work in areas of fluctuating temperature.
