We’re recruiting for multiple positions so be sure you review all of our job postings.  This job posting is for an Electrician with a pay range of $27.50 to $32.00/hour plus $1.00/hour shift differential and progressive pay increases. WORK SCHEDULE: Night Shift 7:00 P.M. – 7:00 A.M. (either C or D shift)

Must be willing and able to work nights and weekends


JOB SUMMARY: The Electrician will perform electrical repairs throughout the building and on all equipment. Additionally, s/he will assist Maintenance with the installation of electrical wires of new equipment, assist external contractors, and repair Programmable Logic Control (PLC) issues as needed. They understand and align business operations and the Maintenance Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.


JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Work within and adhere to GPI’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork.
  • Perform electronic repairs throughout the building and on all machines following plant and department guidelines and processes.
  • Use experience, training and machine knowledge to determine root causes of Programmable Logic Control (PLC) issues; complete necessary repair and make programming changes in control ladder logic.
  • Install electrical wiring using volt meters, amp meters, etc. Once installation is complete, test run machines to verify proper wire installation.
  • Follow specifications of new equipment to make necessary electrical wires.
  • Assist Maintenance during startup of machines.
  • Assist Electrical Contractors with installations and/ or troubleshooting of equipment as directed.
  • Work independently and on teams for electrical construction, wiring and equipment installations projects. Test run machinery to verify proper wiring and installation, and assist Maintenance Mechanic during the machine’s start up.
  • Evaluate and prioritize repair work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills


  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of installation & application of drives, drive motors, and PLC controls.
  • Knowledge of support equipment operation to include but not limited to air compressors, air dryers, chillers, and vacuum pumps.
  • Knowledge of production equipment operation including, but not limited to, cup formers, lid lines, blankers, slitters, folding carton machines, single wraps, presses, etc.
  • Electrical knowledge and experience in working with AC/DC low voltage to 480/3 phase voltage, high voltage transformers and electrical switchgear.
  • Electrical knowledge and experience of local/national electrical codes and associated wire and conduit sizing involved with electrical construction.
  • Able to work independently on electrical construction and installations projects
  • Ability to read and modify complex electrical schematics, blueprints, and operating manuals.
  • Ability to use vendor software for trouble-shooting various PLC controls, drives and drive motors
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office applications and vendor software such as Allen-Bradley, GE Fanuc)

  • The Electrician’s schedule is 12-hour shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off.  However, employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime.



  • Sitting or standing, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods.

  • Push/pull wheeled tool cart with up to 50 lb. load.
