Title:  Total Productive Maintenance Lead

JOB SUMMARY: Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a maintenance philosophy that integrates equipment maintenance into the manufacturing process to increase the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) of department equipment. The TPM Lead drives a learning culture that embraces standardized work, information flow, problem solving, and continuous improvement. The three goals of TPM are zero unplanned failures, zero product defects, and zero accidents.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Work within and adhere to GPI’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork.
  • Lead the development and execution of TPM implementation.
  • Support autonomous maintenance, process and machine improvement, preventative maintenance, early management of new equipment, and process quality management within the department.
  • Partner with maintenance leads on writing work instructions or standard maintenance procedures regarding preventative maintenance (PM) tasks.
  • Assist cup department trainers in operator training and emphasizing proactive and preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Create a baseline for department operators to maintain equipment cleanliness
  • Lead product loss elimination initiatives for the department.
  • Follow up on PM work and update PM packages with additional information needed for continuous improvements.
  • Developing and implementing RCFA program
  • Work with Parts Room Manager to maintain and adjust inventory levels to the description of the dept.
  • Use data driven decisions to help Operations and Maintenance become more proactive in process control and reaction.
  • Adhere to 5S principles and safety principles.
  • Be the process expert on Lean tools (value stream mapping, Kanban SMED, Kaizen, Heijunka).
  • Direct reports include bagger utility technical lead and cup former maintainers.
  • Backup cup superintendent and cup department manager as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Two years of cup maintenance and/or cup operator experience required.
  • Experience in TPM manufacturing deployment preferred.
  • Excellent planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to influence behaviors and resolve challenges.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a rapidly changing environment where analytical skills, technical depth, collaboration, and leadership are equally important.
  • Self-motivated, self-confident, and capable in operating well with varying levels of direction.

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Associates Degree or higher preferred or equivalent experience in manufacturing.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sitting or standing, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods.
  • Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
  • Routine Lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Push/pull pallet jack 
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.
  • Work in areas of fluctuating temperature.
