Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:


  • Read and interpret job orders.
  • Make ready, operation and maintenance of multi-unit 29” Heidelberg sheet fed printing press.
  • Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications.
  • Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
  • Obtains job jackets and reviews prior to running orders.
  • Check print quality throughout runs.
  • Print quality products on a schedule that meets or exceeds the clients’ expectations.
  • Troubleshoot press problems as they occur.
  • Participate in client “press okays”.
  • Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
  • Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
  • Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
  • Ensures that appropriate contact relief is made, and machine hand-off occurs during shift changes.
  • Performs preventative maintenances.
  • Works as a leader of the crew, overseeing operator assistants and trainees and ensures their abilities and assists as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team environment
  • Ability to interpret and translate designs and documentation
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Thorough attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Visual color discrimination, the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Good attendance
  • Strong leadership abilities
