PRINTING DEPARTMENT TRAINER JOB SUMMARY: To lead the press crew in the everyday operation of the press, to ensure that we get make-readies and runs in the most efficient manner possible to achieve top quality production. They understand and align business operations and the Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.
Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:
· Continually promotes and demonstrates safe work behaviors. Reinforces safety procedures during training and team meetings providing training if needed.
- Leads and supports employee process improvement teams to conduct problem solving to driving down to root cause solutions.
- Leads and supports employee process improvement teams to develop, present, and drive through problem solutions.
- Develops and continually improves training materials, methods (including training milestones) and procedures regarding all Printing Department positions.
- Validates training for each position prior to promotion
- Performs tower maintenance duties
- Operates equipment as required.
- Completes shift reporting as directed
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

MECHANICAL SKILLS:
Ability to pass the pre-employment Mechanical Assessment
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Has demonstrated the capability to safely operate all Pressroom equipment to established standards.
- Has successfully demonstrated leadership ability as a Press Operator.
- Basic computer skills using Email, Word, Excel, SAP.
- Must work different shifts if required, including nights
- Must work weekends and Holidays as required during maintenance projects
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
RCRA TRAINING:
Must complete RCRA Training to be able to properly handle any hazardous waste made within the printing process.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Employees are required to work 8-hour (M-F) or 12-hour (2-2-3) schedules including weekends.
Occasional overtime is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move in a pushing and pulling motion when helping change loads; frequently required to climb on and off the press platform; continuously required to work above ground on top of the press; frequently required to bend, crouch, stoop, kneel, and twist while washing blankets, and checking wheels; required to crawl when setting wheels; occasionally required to reach when replacing wheels; and frequently required to use eye, hand and foot coordination when making load change. Hand coordination is required of both hands for simple grasping.
The employee must not be colorblind.
The employee is frequently required to lift under 10 pounds and between 50 to 75 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is regularly exposed to dust, fumes, vibration, toxic conditions, powder spray, heat, cold, and potential work hazards from the dryers.
