Job Description

We are currently searching for a qualified Production Scheduler/Planner to manage paperboard procurement activities for our production. This role's main goal is to minimize paperboard working capital by coordinating material procurement to support a just-in-time production schedule.

Job Functions:

  • Plan and order raw material (corrugate) from approved vendors to support the production schedules.
  • Responsible for monitoring raw materials and WIP inventory levels within established tolerances for items produced or purchased for the assigned operating department.
  • Ensuring raw materials, WIP inventory and tooling are available to support schedule changes.
  • Coordinates the activities associated with expediting raw materials.
  • Participate in New Business and Transfer Business calls.
  • Managing Packaging Bill of Material for all items being produced.
  • • Partner with Production Departments and Scheduling to procure material to maximize equipment runs.
  • Communicate with internal and external resources regarding corrugate material transportation and delivery.
  • Responsible for compliance with all facility food safety, food defense, and quality policies and procedures including product safety (GMPs)/Sanitation policies and procedures. 
  • Employee must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area in support of SQF/5S and other company standards.
  • Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes.
  • Strives to clearly understand customer requirements and delivers results to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Back Up Production Planner in their absence.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Must be supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork).

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3 years of experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SAP Experience
  • Shop floor reporting systems (ERP), preferred
  • Must be well-organized, able to work with minimum direct supervision, and prioritize multiple tasks to meet production schedules and system deadlines
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills & customer-service skills
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills

 

Preferred:

  • 5 years manufacturing experience in packaging or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of supply chain management preferred
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
