MISSION / SUMMARY: Position leads daily E & I maintenance activity in support of two online coating paper machines.

 

JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

The E & I Supervisor directly supervises hourly employees and must possess the ability to manage by key performance indicators.  This role actively leads and participates in plant safety, housekeeping, 5S, and lean manufacturing programs, ensuring that departmental goals are met.

  • Coordinate with E&I Planners to ensure that all PMs are scheduled and completed.
  • Attend Maintenance Planning and Coordination meetings to help prioritize scheduled work and efficiently handle “break-in” work as necessary.
  • Prioritize work to be performed by E&I Technicians and consult with Planner or Reliability Engineer on work to be contracted.
  • Work with the Reliability Group to ensure that Preventive Maintenance programs or Permanent Electrical equipment modifications are put in place to address the “Root Causes” of downtime and quality issues.
  • Ensure safety best practices and policies are followed.
  • Schedule work assignments and vacations, and address other personnel issues for E&I Department maintenance personnel.
  • Assist in the development and execution of the “Outage” strategy and plan.
  • Collaborate with Production Operators to understand operational issues as well as process and equipment opportunities.
  • Teach technical fundamentals to E&I Technicians and operations personnel when appropriate.
  • Monitors and participates in operations in assigned areas, including inspecting projects and developing and implementing modifications and improvements.
  • Maintains effective working relationships and works in cooperation with the management team to effectively meet departmental objectives.
  • Provides input into the development of the operating budget for the assigned area of responsibility; orders materials and supplies; assists in the monitoring and tracking of expenditures.
  • Respond to emergencies as requested; coordinate activities with others; direct the work and utilization of resources to effect repair.
  • Prepares records related to the work performed and materials and supplies used.

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of E & I supervisory experience.
  • This position also requires knowledge of precision maintenance techniques, as well as familiarity with RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance).
  • Knowledgeable in Programmable Logic Controls
  • DC and AC Drives (Rockwell & ABB)
  • Medium Voltage-4160 motor circuits
  • SEL Motor Protection Relay
  • Synchronous Motors, AC & DC Motors
  • Honeywell Burner Management System
  • Turbine Generators (5 – 45MW)
  • Power Distribution (480 – 13.8KV)
  • Bark & Recovery Boiler Controls
  • Instrumentation - Control Valves, transmitters (temp, pressure, DP, etc.)
  • CEMS (Constant Emission Monitoring System
  • Paper mill experience is a plus.

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

 SPECIFIC SKILLS:

  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, leadership skills-relationship building, and group facilitation skills.
  • Business presence, ability to work through others, technical presence, extensive circle of influence, computer skills, and strong project management.

 

 

Pay Range:   $92,530.00 - $123,405.00
