Title: Logistics Associate Manager

MISSION / SUMMARY:
The Logistics Associate Manager supervises the Finishing and Shipping department and is responsible for providing leadership and supervision of the Finishing and Shipping crew operations as needed to cover the day-to-day operations of the department. The Shipping department operates four crews; each crew consist of eight members. The role is also responsible for assisting the Logistics Manager in the day-to-day Operations of the Department and the planning and coordination of maintenance and outage activities within the department.
The primary focus of this position is to support the immediate needs of the mill through the supervision of rotating crews in the Finishing and Shipping area, to maintain a safe, environmentally sound, and efficient operation to achieve maximum quality production at minimum cost. Areas of responsibility include all roll handling equipment, banding and finishing operations, warehousing, inventory management, loading / shipping (rail and truck) and training / certification of Operators.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.
The Logistics Associate Manager is responsible for the following:
- Responsible for safe work environment, including conducting safety meetings and training, observations and correcting unsafe behaviors and conditions, and proactively supporting department and facility leadership in the continuous improvement of safety systems.
- Responsible for the direct supervision of rotating crews, utilizing the competencies of a successful frontline leader (see competencies below)
- Responsible for insuring all 38 employee’s time is accurate and complete in ADP by 10AM every Monday.
- Encourages and motivates crew members to complete on-shift safe behavior observations.
- Assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions.
- Audit work systems to ensure consistent operation (T-card rounds, audits procedures, etc.)
- Increase crew engagement.
- Direct maintenance tasks to be completed on shift.
- Effective communication and production planning between departments as well as load planning Machine Run Schedules via Optivision operating system.
- Annual outage support and routine outage support.
- Conducting one-on-ones with direct reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in paper manufacturing, warehouse operations, converting, logistics, or related field preferred.
- Experience in maintenance and /or converting equipment operation is preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
SCHEDULE DEMANDS:
- The position will be assigned as a day shift leader responsible for crews on 12 hour rotating shifts. Off days will include weekends and holidays, however periodic on call coverage will be necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sitting at a computer desk for extended periods of time reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
- Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
- Ability to physically move about a manufacturing environment including, accessing roll handling equipment, climbing ladders / stairs and entering railcars and trailers.

EDUCATION:
- BS degree preferred & 5 years leadership in a manufacturing warehouse setting
Pay Range: $71,250.00 - $95,000.00
