This is a supervisor level position requiring strong machining, rebuild, and fabrication skills with the ability to lead a team of machinists/millwrights. This position is responsible for overseeing and leading maintenance area support services within the facility in a safe and efficient manner while ensuring minimal downtime. This position will work closely with Operations and the Maintenance Team to provide maximum facility support.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

· This position requires intimate knowledge of machining, rebuild, and fabrication practices to produce, modify, or repair parts to maintain industrial machines, by applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing preventive maintenance, repair maintenance activities, equipment inspections, lubrication of equipment, precision measurement, maintenance pumps and bearings, manufacture parts for gearboxes and various valves. Lead an hourly team of 5 to 7 machinists and millwrights.

· A flexible attitude and ability to work closely with others.

· Familiar with preventive and predictive maintenance concepts/technologies

· Familiar with work management and maintenance management processes and the ability to work within that framework.

· Able to read/interpret blueprints, pipe layouts and fabrication design; and be knowledgeable in the principles and application of precision tools, measurement tools, rigging, and welding.

· Able to Identify, Locate, Order, Manage spare parts as needed. SAP experience is a plus.

· Capability of working in a physically intense environment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, and climbing.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

· Commitment to safety and quality

· Ability to read and interrupt blueprints and schematics

· Computer literacy – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); SAP experience a plus.

· Good communication skills - verbal and written

· The ability to work independently and in a team environment by receiving and completing work orders; gathering tools and supplies to complete the work assigned

· Willing to update job knowledge thru participation in educational opportunities

· Willing to work rotating Shifts and Overtime

· Lean/5S systems knowledge a plus

· Basic Trouble shooting (pneumatics/hydraulics/mechanical/electrical systems)

· Good project management skills.

Desired Background:

· 5 years of machine shop leadership experience. Must provide documentation for completion of formal training to include certifications for machining, tooling, & mechanical disciplines or a demonstrated work history which supports equivalent experience

· Excellent team skills

· Understanding of installation, repair, and maintenance of industrial equipment in paper mill or similar industries.

Education:

High school diploma or GED

 

Pay Range:   $86,250.00 - $115,000.00
