SUMMARY: The Automation Controls Engineer will be leading continuous improvement efforts on PLC controls platforms to improve reliability and performance of our manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimal operation, and minimizing downtime. Recommending design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability. This role combines technical expertise with strategic thinking to enhance our production processes and support our commitment to quality and efficiency

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include, but are not limited to the following:

Develop and implement routine preventative maintenance and diagnostic programs for PLC’s and other automation platforms.

Troubleshooting AC and DC control systems using electrical schematics, P&ID’s (control loops), control narratives, and ladder logic. Control systems include PLCs, instrumentation, networked controllers, process controllers, hydraulic control valves, pneumatic control valves and AC or DC motors and drives.

Good knowledge of tools and software required to maintain, repair, and improve industrial automation systems including, but not limited to, industrial test equipment, programming software and tools, .

Maintain and improve programming, hardware, networking and communication systems with design, configuration, and operational knowledge of industrial networking, configuration of ethernet devices, HMI displays and systems, OPC servers and data transfer, and industrial communications systems using Modbus and other protocols

Solid knowledge of AC and DC Drive systems including design, configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting.

Must be self-starter and must demonstrate the initiative to identify and solve problems  with minimal supervision.

Solid verbal communication and listening skills to work effectively with various personnel.

Mentor, coach, train and lead maintenance technicians.

Ability to create, evaluate and implement technical specifications, SOPs, and preventive/predictive maintenance programs on AC and DC motors, drives and other electrical equipment.

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

Graduate of Rockwell AAM Rockwell Program, or bachelor’s or associate degree in an engineering discipline, controls engineering preferred.

Prior Rockwell ControlLogix, ABB or Honeywell automation systems experience preferred.

SPECIFIC SKILLS:

Process control engineering and troubleshooting

An ability to manage multiple priorities and strong team player.

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

General schedule is an M-F assignment, with rotating weekend/night call coverage. Employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so. Schedule includes weekend rotation coverage.

Up to 25% travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.

Pay Range:   $104,325.00 - $139,100.00
