MISSION / SUMMARY:

The Reliability Manager is a critical, leadership position responsible for the overall maintenance reliability operations of Macon Mill’s charged with ensuring the equipment is capable of producing 600,000 tons per year. This position will oversee short term and long-term reliability efforts, preventive and predictive maintenance, reliability and capital project hand offs.

 

 JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

  • Drive safety to Zero injuries and support mill transition to safety focused culture.
  • Develop long-term strategies aimed at equipment reliability improvements.
  • As a leadership team representative, act as a change agent for developing a collaborative approach in working with Capital Engineers ensuring a seamless transition following installation of new equipment.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for improving maintenance downtime.
  • Collaborate with operations, and capital engineers to develop capital projects to improve overall equipment efficiency.
  • Develop and execute the strategic vision of a mill-wide reliability department.
  • Develop a plan for identifying and delivering cost savings initiatives. 
  • Manage a staff of engineers and supervisors dedicated to improving the mechanical reliability of the mill

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • Skilled in utilization of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably SAP.
  • Multi-tasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines on a continuous basis.
  • Able to convey a sense of urgency and drive to perform and deliver expected results to the organization.
  • Organized approach to work and ability to deal with multiple competing priorities to make appropriate decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to effective lead a diverse team to achieve stretch goals.

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math or Sciences from an accredited four-year college or university strongly preferred or, in lieu of degree, a minimum of 15 years of compensatory closely related work experience required in lieu of degree.
  • 3-5 year’s maintenance supervision experience in pulp and paper.

 

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
  • Use of ladders and stairs in the mill environment.
