POSITION SCOPE:

Supervises and coordinates activities of personnel regarding ordering, receiving, handling, storing, inventorying, issuing, shipping, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.  Responsible for managing the layout of storeroom, warehouse, and other storage areas. Manages and advise personnel regarding the care and preservation of items received, stored, shipped, methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, shipping, and other related problems. Studies records and recommends to the Sr. Manager of Mill Purchasing remedial actions for reported expired, deteriorated, slow-moving, and excess stock. Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures and determines adequacy of stock levels and makes adjustments accordingly. Schedules work for special and periodic inventories. Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock-control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies. Performs duties outlined for the Storeroom Coordinator as needed.  

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage MRP (inventory) daily report, physical inventory, stock outs.
  • Manage and conducts first step in grievances procedure.
  • Manage departmental seniority in accordance to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
  • Develop annual departmental goals which support local/divisional goals.
  • Manage the external inventory repair process for materials.
  • Manage and conduct annual slow moving or obsolescence review and the removal of obsolescence from inventory upon approval from mill supervision.
  • Manage and assist with corporate project initiatives.
  • Manage all receipts, issues, freight bills, free stock, return goods memo processes.
  • Manage storeroom bin labeling, description changes, inventory relocation, new set –ups along with all bin maintenance.
  • Manage safety activities; facilitate training and corrective action reviews.
  • Manage ISO activities and facilitate changes to ISO manual.
  • Manage training activities to include: ISO, Job Function, and Safety.
  • Manage housekeeping.
  • Responsible for maintaining overall building structure and repairs.
  • Responsible for supervising storeroom personnel.
  • Manage and communicate with vendors on service calls, repair issues, and requested material.
  • Act as a liaison between mill employees, purchasing and suppliers.
  • Manage the internal repair process through the PM04 work orders.
  • Manage inventory control cycle counts processes.
  • Manage storeroom requisitions and confirm orders.
  • Manage the operational needs/requests and make changes accordingly.
  • Manage and maintain standard and custom reports.
  • Maintain appropriate warehouse security policies and safe work practices.
  • Manage and coordinate as a departmental liaison with the Purchasing and Accounting Departments.
  • Manage and approve work schedules for department personnel; evaluate duties of the storeroom employees.
  • Manage storeroom overtime to comply with annual budget.
  • Manage and approve personnel weekly timecards in ADP.
  • Manage the expediting process and procedures for all material that are returned to vendors and suppliers and assure credits are posted.
  • Manage and review work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with departmental rules and guidelines.
  • Responsible for addressing issues, concerns and complaints from storeroom personnel.
  • Responsible for storeroom description updates and changes.
  • Manage, approve and assist in creating training manuals to be used by other departments regarding work-orders, pulling reports and other storeroom procedures and business processes.
  • Responsible for researching, handling and addressing storeroom issues or mill concerns and identification of solutions.
  • Responsible for “on-call” weekend duty for the storeroom based on rotating schedule.
  • Manage the overall training system for the department.
  • Manage and monitor daily the overall storeroom inventory value to assure accuracy.
  • Manage and monitor all daily goods receipts and final issues to assure accuracy.
  • Conduct annual physical inventory count of storeroom stock; review for accuracy and report discrepancies.
  • Manage supply vending machine program; restocking units as needed.
  • Assist maintenance planners and supervisors with work order integrity to ensure business system processes function correctly.
  • Support maintenance planners and supervisors with planning work by verifying lead times on components, expediting components when necessary, and driving effective communication.
  • Responsible for the performance of other duties as assigned according to the needs of the mill.

    POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: 

    • Background in purchasing, inventory management or business management preferred.
    • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of experience in a supply chain function preferred or equivalent experience.
    • Working knowledge of SAP preferred.
    • Good verbal/written communication skills.
    • Ability to multi task; managing multiple projects and meeting critical deadlines on a continuous basis.
    • Demonstrate leadership skills.  Desire a candidate with 2-3 years of direct supervisory experience.
    • Ability to work with and/or lead cross functional teams.
    • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute various projects.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
