Title: Die Cutting Assistant

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB:
Feeder/Helper under the direction of the Lead Operator and/or Operator, assists in operation of die cutters including press makeready, running, load and unload, maintenance, safety, housekeeping, quality control, production, stripping of waste from product, packaging of goods and baling of waste. Apply QMS principles and techniques effectively.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Follow instruction and schedule of production as directed by Lead Operator and/or supervisor.
- Assist in press makereadies when possible becoming proficient to perform in absence of Operator or Lead Operator.
- Load paper or board stock from transport skid to machine feed platform. Unload finished skids from machine.
- Attend machine during operation to ensure continuous production of acceptable quality of work. Refer all problems or questions to Operator or Lead Operator.
- Strip trim waste from product.
- Remove trim waste to baler and/or bale waste as required.
- Perform other related duties as directed by Operator and/or supervisor.

Items lifted/carried – machine parts, die chase, pallets.
Maximum weight lifted/carried - 51 - 100 lbs.
Maximum weight lifted/carried frequently - 51 - 50 lbs.
Maximum weight lifted/carried continuously - 21 - 50 lbs.
Pushing and Pulling – required continuously throughout the work day at an average pace.
Items pushed/pulled – pallets of stock utilizing a hand jack.
Maximum weight pushed/pulled - 51 - 100 lbs. of force
Maximum weight pushed/pulled frequently -51 - 100 lbs. of force
Maximum weight pushed/pulled continuously -51 - 100 lbs. of force
* Occasional - up to 1/3 of normal work day
Frequent - 1/3 to 2/3 of normal work day
Continuous – 2/3 to a full work day

Machine hand controls – frequently using handles, knobs, or levers.

Depth Perception – Frequent required to judge distances and relationships between objects
accurately.

one point.
Color vision – Frequent required to identify and distinguish color.
Hearing – Frequent required to perceive the nature of sounds by ear.
Talking – Frequent required to express ideas through the spoken word.
Feeling – Frequent perceiving attributes of objects – size, shape, texture.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Read, write, add, subtract, multiply and divide- understand implied instructions.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
- Special precautions necessary to prevent lost-time accidents to others.
- Read, understand, and follow all safety rules and practices. Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and unsafe actions.
ATTENDANCE REQUIRMENTS: Regular attendance is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Fair working conditions exist due to the manufacturing processes, but only one or two continuously present – dirt, lint, odors, heat.
