JOB SUMMARY: Preferred candidate will have strong maintenance background along with knowledge and skills in order to assist with electrical issues in the plant and on the machines. They will need to understand and align business operations and Maintenance operations as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

 JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Adhere to GPI’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork.
  • Work any shift
  • Work the required daily or weekend overtime
  • Look up parts and work with OEMs
  • Read mechanical and electrical schematics
  • Use the computer to process work notifications (SAP)
  • Qualify to operate a forklift, aerial boom lift and scissors lift
  • Work on platforms approx. 15 feet above the ground level
  • Participate in technical training on or off site
  • Other duties as assigned.

 BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

  • Manufacturing experience required
  • Welding
  • Hydraulics / Pneumatics
  • Basic electrical circuits
  • Basic electrical installation
  • Read basic prints – assembly drawings, parts drawings
  • Power transmission
  • Bearings
  • Basic machine shop work
  • Pipe Threading

 EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

 SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Schedules are 8 or 12-hour shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off.  However, employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Some Departments/Jobs may run a M-F 8-hour Shift Schedule.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime.

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sitting or standing, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods.
  • Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
  • Routine Lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 45 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.
  • Work in areas of fluctuating temperature.
  • May use hands for repetitive pushing, pulling, and grasping frequently.
  • Could be bending 67-100%, squatting less than 38%, climbing 10%, twisting and turning 67-100%, and reaching 67-100% of the time.
