MISSION / SUMMARY

The SBS Supply Planning Manager is directly responsible for leading the Supply Planning organization and the planning and scheduling of 1.2 million annual tons of SBS manufacturing facilities. This position will lead the supply planning effort for the primary manufacturing & extruding facilities, one remote extruding converting facility and up to four outsourcing locations supporting the SBS Business. The position will be responsible for ensuring the proper execution of the master operating plan matching supply with demand, and establishing processes to effectively manage scheduling of manufacturing, remote converting, outsource resources. The position will be responsible for developing processes that continuously improve supply chain operations within and across functional areas, businesses, teams and employee development. In addition, the position will ensure that supply chain and cost savings initiatives are developed and implemented to meet the strategic objectives of the business and the sector’s supply chain function. 

 

Role will be based in Memphis, TN.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead and improve the scheduling processes to reduce supply chain cost and achieve business specified fill rates and service levels.
  • Develop enhanced service capabilities and programs by working closely with manufacturing partners, operations, and customer service to fully utilize all resources.
  • Coordinate with customer service and internal stakeholders to understand and respond to customer requirements in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate and implement customized solutions for identified customers. Additionally, the position will ensure sector resources are utilized within the SBS business and enterprise solutions are effectively integrated into the business.    
  • Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators to proactively manage the supply chain and adjust/take action as needed.

 

  • Act as primary interface between supply chain and the business. Critical success factors of this interface include 1) assisting these organizations in understanding the fundamentals of supply chain management 2) understanding the supply chain issues and opportunities that are presented from the market place and (3) keeping the business leaders informed on a timely basis on the status of operations, improvement initiatives and service issues.
  • Develop team and individuals in the latest supply chain principles, practices and functionality.

 

  • Responsible for training processes and materials for current and new personnel and daily mentoring and coaching.

 

  • Manage trim efficiency / resolution as it applies to paper machines and extruders width and trim utilization.

 

  • Manage production backlogs across facilities and resources (LOO, CTS, inventory and customer restrictions).

 

  • Responsible for NCP utilization and generation resulting in inventory reduction.

 

  • Manage production rewinding across multiple facilities.

 

  • Manage customer OTD across production facilities and outsource locations.

 

  • Manage customer impacting order shortage reporting and facilitate timely production make ups.

 

  • Manage block integrity and schedule adherence.

 

  • Identify and execute upon annual SPI project initiatives

 

  • Analytical analysis as required to support business needs (inventory, CTS, manufacturing, trim, and new functionality requests).

 

  • SBS reporting as required.

 

  • Weekend and night call supporting SBS manufacturing locations.

 

  • Allocation management, support and reporting.

 

  • Foster collaborative working relationship among customer service, manufacturing locations, sales and business management.

 

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of SAP GA1 production scheduling functionality
  • Knowledge of manufacturing facility/business operations
  • Familiar with supply chain concepts
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Experience leading change
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • 5 years supply chain experience

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Four-year college degree in related field required
  • P&S SAP GA1 supply planning scheduling functionality knowledge preferred
  • Cross Functional Supply Chain knowledge preferred
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc)
