MISSION / SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing effective and efficient Human Resources and payroll support for the Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin Foodservice   facility with approximately 36 employees. Manages hourly payroll using WorkBrain in concert with our Corporate Payroll. This includes, but not limited to, providing support, policy interpretation an application, documentation planning, mail services, records, and data input. Composes routine correspondences, documents, reports, purchase orders, forms, etc. in support of daily operations. Responsible for maintaining site personnel labor hours reports, and HR support tasks. This position drives culture initiatives that includes but limited to employee communications, health & wellness, community involvement, reward & recognition, performance management and a variety of other activities. This position has no direct reports but reports to plant management with a dotted line to Human Resources. They understand and align business operations and Human Resources as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial, values and operational objectives.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

  • Work within and adhere to GPI’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork.
  • Provide general administrative, and clerical support.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, answer main facility phone, respond to customer/client/employee inquires.
  • Manage janitorial services and uniform services.
  • Handle FedEx shipping and International shipping documentation and coordination.
  • Schedule and make arrangements for multiple visitors and group meetings and other facility engagement and promotional activities.
  • Manage employee safety shoe and eye glass support programs.
  • Order, stock, and maintain office supplies and materials for the facility.
  • Negotiate and/or follow the GPI parameters around maintaining contracts for truck lease, fork truck, snow plowing, landscaping, and waste management.
  • Process payroll for hourly employees utilizing WorkBrain. Interface with Corporate Payroll.
  • Provide employee relations counseling and problem solving for managers and employees to ensure a productive work environment, remaining consistent with company values and policies and in adherence to state and federal regulatory law
  • Manage the hourly hiring process including testing, interviewing, onboarding and new hire orientation. Execute recruiting strategies for hourly positions including attending local job fairs. Coordinates and fully participates in the recruiting and selection process including interviewing, background checks, drug screening, etc.
  • Manage the hourly attendance tracking.
  • Oversee the areas of employment, affirmative action, and personnel record keeping.
  • Manage affirmative action programs including implementing and providing training to management regarding AA goals under guidance of HR Manager.
  • Manage financial duties that may include handling invoices in SAP, process accounts receivables, maintain project parts purchases spreadsheet, work with engineers on project spending tracking, and setting up any new vendors to the designated GPI systems, and any other duties as trained/assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Payroll experience – WorkBrain experience a plus
  • Experience managing multiple human resources activities such as benefit enrollment, new hire orientation.
  • Prior experience with ad-hoc report writing using Excel spreadsheets including use of pivot tables
  • Must possess effective time management, problem solving, organizational and priority setting skills
  • Must possess strong knowledge of HR legal issues including federal, state and local laws and regulations related to employment, wage and hour.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal).  Facilitation skills are a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook and Internet skills required
  • Must have a working knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
  • Experience with SAP HRIS system is a plus
  • Must be able to work normal business hours (e.g. 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) and overtime as required.
  • PHR or SPHR certification a plus but not required

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience managing Human Resources in a diverse manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, in related field or compensatory closely related work experience required in lieu of degree

 

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Schedules are up to 8-hour shifts on a M-F schedule.       However, employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime.

 

 

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
