Graphic Packaging International, ULC, located in Mississauga, Ontario, currently has an immediate opening for an experienced, Industrial Millwright to join our team in 24/7 operations plant on Afternoon shifts with flexibility to support all other shifts, morning, nights, rotating 12 hours shifts, weekends and statutory holidays. overtime and on-call. This is a great opportunity for a Red Seal Industrial Millwright. The Millwright will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in manufacturing facilities and industrial plants. This role ensures equipment operates efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain production quality.

The position will be active in developing a culture of an incident free workplace, continuous improvement of equipment reliability and reducing costs to support the business success.

 

Job requirements:

  • Install, assemble, and align machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical systems, including motors, conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and production machines.
  • Diagnose malfunctions and determine corrective actions to restore equipment to proper working condition.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance tasks to avoid unplanned downtime.
  • Use precision tools and instruments to check parts for accuracy and ensure proper fit and alignment.
  • Operate hoists, cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment as needed to move and position heavy machinery.
  • Fabricate and modify parts as required, including welding and machining when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders and reports.
  • Comply with safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned and required.

 

Job Requirements/Education:

 

  • Industrial Millwright (433A) Certificate of Qualification (or equivalent certification).
  • Proven experience working as a millwright in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial automation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
  • Skilled in using hand and power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Expected to supply a standard industrial set of tools. The company will supply specialty tooling

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting, standing for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours
  • Awkward and/or repetitive movements
  • Climbing, stooping, bending, and overhead reaching
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Noisy/hot environment
  • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment
