MISSION / SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Regional Controller and contributing as an active member of the Operations group management team, the Controller is responsible for the preparation, interpretation and analysis of the financial statements of Graphic Packaging International Canada – Mississauga division while providing financial leadership and organizational support to maximize long term value, cashflow & profitability.  With management collaboration, the Controller will deliver or control annual budgets, rolling forecasts, inventory management and capacity planning.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

 

 

 

 

  • Manage the team responsible for maintaining the costing systems, invoicing, accounts payable and receivable,
  • Deliver production analysis and evaluation of the division’s monthly operating results, annual budgets, monthly production and financial forecasts, and weekly results reporting.
  • Provide analytical support for cross functional projects including, but not limited to, customer profitability analysis and pricing. 
  • Lead the sales forecasting process for the divisions regarding rolling forecasts by customer by die line for submission to Corporate sales and capacity teams, and subsequent P&L and balance sheet forecasts.
  • Develop and present monthly business review presentations to management teams summarizing key financial/operating performance metrics, action items identified to drive improvement, and changes to forecasted targets.   
  • Assure divisions are in compliance with the Company’s policies and controls inclusive of internal audit, audit board, or other annual compliance processes.
  • Maintain, develop and improve information and accounting systems with the current ERP systems or implementation of SAP (PRD) as scheduled.
  • Responsible for monthly inventory cycle or physical counts and reconciliation, identifying improvement opportunities and ensuring that controls are maintained
  • Work with the internal customers and joint continuous improvement efforts; conducts department meetings and offers support (profitability, production, etc.).
  • Ensure legislative and regulatory filings and deadlines

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a manager, preferably in a matrix manufacturing environment;
  • Strong leadership and problem solving/analytical skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills and very detail-oriented;
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Strong computer skills in all Microsoft software (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems including SAP/AS400 is an asset.  As a member of the management team, you will be demonstrative of the company’s values and philosophy.

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business (Accounting) or equivalent.
  • CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • French is considered an asset

 

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • Position has tight month end and budget deadlines, and there will be occasional increased hours to meet these deadlines.
  • Occasional travel to group sites or Atlanta head office for meetings or conferences occurs..

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
