Responsibilities:

  • Review docket information to ensure correct job as specified, is produced.
  • Complete printing Quality Checklist.
  • Review colours and graphics to what is on the press ensuring quality and colour match.
  • Perform press make-readies to meet production requirements.
  • Set up all colours in correct rotation to meet quality expectations.
  • Ensure colour consistency throughout run.
  • Check pulls from every load for registration, colour, printing defects and evenness of colours.
  • Take immediate corrective action to rectify and document in process challenges.
  • Complete defect tags when required. Insert into loads and document on Printing Quality checklist.
  • Maintain accurate counts, utilizing in-house software.
  • Troubleshoot press to help reduce downtime & inefficiencies.
  • Assist in the training and mentorship of fellow printing employees.
  • Maintain & adhere to safety standards (including P.P.E. requirements).
  • Perform weekly scheduled maintenance according to established guidelines.
  • Report any and all press related issues to Print Manager.
  • Demonstrate a deliberate focus on Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Performance and professional respect for all.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Printing Department (Preferred off-set Litho).
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge of printing process and machines.
  • Proficient understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Skilled in multitasking and prioritizing in fast-paced environments.
  • Technical knowledge of printing press process and machines and quality standards (LAB and Delta E capture).
  • Forklift and Walkie experience an asset.
  • Physically capable of heavy lifting (rollers, etc.).
