JOB SUMMARY:
Manufacturing Production Process Engineering focuses on designing, developing, and implementing new or revised production processes for the efficient/economical mass production of goods including: Designing arrangement of manufacturing equipment to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designing the sequence of production operations, specifying procedures for the fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapting machinery in response to factory conditions. Conducting tests throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshooting/solving production problems. Providing guidance to product design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensuring that production processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sheeting/Printing/Prepress Management
- Daily data entry (+ coverage for managers on vacation)
- Crewing schedule + posting
- Vacation approval
- Overtime coordination
- Ad hoc labor coordination (Receiving sheets, Flipping, KBA Feeder coverage)
- Payroll (+ coverage for managers on vacation)
- Quality NCRs
- Supplies ordering + Supplier Meetings
- Monthly consignment counting (Coating + Fountain solution)
- Weekly Preventative Maintenance audits (only on Sheeter so far)
- Safety investigations (statements, security camera review, reporting, modified duties, etc)
- JHAs, Near Miss reporting, Safety contacts, Hazard Mitigations
- HR issues (harassment claims, discipline, etc)
- Monthly Toolbox talks (x29 employees)
- Monthly Machine guarding (x3 machines)
Process Engineering
- Data Collection / Reporting
- Operational Metrics master spreadsheet management
- Daily Machine Targets
- SLT Meeting Data compilation
- Printing Crewing Performance
- Compiling graphs / data and creating presentations for:
- CI Projects Meeting w/ Alain
- OpEx Meetings
- Any other ad hoc meetings
- OPLs/SOPs/Videos/Other training material development for operators (Docket bag, Packoneer, Tent cards, Outside sheet consumption, etc)
- Oroville Visit coordination + PDCA
- Updating targets on Sheeting + Printing + Cutting machine whiteboards (on hold since managing Litho)
Waste Champion
- MR Waste project (work in progress)
- Waste zone setup + sustainment (work in progress)
- Non-process waste calculation
- Pre-setup waste calculation + management (core + lapped on Sheeter)
- Waste cockpit setup + management
- Attend Packoneer Meetings
Safe Quality Food Responsibilities for all employees:
- Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
- Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
- Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
- Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
- Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- BA or equivalent + 3 years related experience, or MA + 1 year related experience.
