Title:  Maintenance Planner/Scheduler

  • Coordinate with Department Managers, Operations Specialist, and Maintenance Specialist to gain concurrence of plan details (manpower, tools, special considerations, etc.)
  • Coordinate with Department Managers, Operations Specialist, and Maintenance Specialist the status of parts to facilitate their daily scheduling.
  • Accurately scope jobs and plan operations PM work to increase overall equipment uptime
  • Assist the failure analysis effort by reviewing systemic issue work order history to prevent recurrence of equipment failure.
  • Assess existing operations PM plans for relevance and improvement. Collaborate/lead/execute improvements to existing plans/tasks and create new plans/tasks.
  • Maintain all levels of the SAP Plant Maintenance Module.
  • Investigate the feasibility of redesigning plans/tasks in which recurring equipment problems exists.
  • Support the advancement of fundamental principles of the reliability centered maintenance (RCM) and work management (FIT).
  • Manages CMMS (SAP) for their areas of responsibility – reviews notifications and generates work orders daily
  • Must be able to function as technical SME when needed
  • Must plan, schedule, PMs within their areas of responsibility
  • Must be proficient with managing store room spare parts and equipment acquisition for their areas
  • Work with Reliability Engineer/Planner to get proper level of feedback on completed jobs.
  • Define scope, cost, and resourcing needed for outage jobs.
  • Generate accurate work orders for all daily jobs and detailed scope as needed for daily jobs.
  • Determine if skills are available in-house, work with Maintenance Manager to maximize use of GPI personnel.
  • Visit job locations and gather first hand data when developing estimates. Ensure plans accurately reflect scope needed.
  • Lead efforts to improve SAP database by developing/updating BOM’s on functional locations, equipment, and repetitive jobs.
  • Utilize SAP for the creation of task lists and maintenance plans to assist in job planning. Maintain all levels of the SAP Plant Maintenance Module.
  • Provide accurate and detailed information to contractors and ensure they provide accurate and cost-effective estimates.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with core suppliers so that GPI’s interests are protected.
  • Ensure stores items are available and reserved for scheduled work.
  • Generate requisitions for items that are not store items.
  • Utilize predictive data (vibration reports, oil analysis, etc.) to set priority for outage work.
  • Ensure PM schedules and time lines are updated, published and communicated prior to PMs.
  • Responsible for maintaining all safety notifications and work orders in SAP.
  • Publish/Plan/Distribute PM’s that are automatically generated through SAP.

Required Skills

  • Complete understanding of electrical, mechanical, preventive, and predictive maintenance required.
  • Continued education in mechanical and/or electrical systems a plus.
  • Project management skills are a plus.
  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of planning and scheduling to support Plant Equipment and Facility Maintenance.
  • Proficient computer skills in CMMS, MS Office and database programs required; SAP a plus
