Inspired Packaging.  A World of Difference.

 

Part-time paid position $13-$15/hr (depending on experience level)

The intern will work closely with the Plant Controller to ensure relevant coursework is being utilized in their position.  This is an excellent opportunity for exposure to several different aspects of corporate accounting.

Potential major projects assigned:

  • Documentation of processes (AR, AP, inventory, other reporting)
  • Support of divisional projects
  • Contribution Margin % Reporting
  • Cost Accounting
  • Develop & Improve month end processes
  • Backup coverage of AP, AR, other reporting

Learning Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this internship, the intern will be able to, at a minimum:

  • Develop, implement, and document an accounting project
  • Accurately and completely document accounting procedures for repeatability
  • Understand the inner workings of an accounting department and how to interact with team members
  • Develop relationships outside of the accounting department and begin to understand how other departments affect accounting and vice versa
  • Research best practices and apply to different situations
  • Apply relevant coursework to real-world situations
  • Dissect and examine data to determine best source for various reports and calculations

Deliverables:

The intern will have completed, at a minimum, by the completion of the internship:

  • Templates for journal entries, month end reports, and daily reports
  • Slides for the monthly CFO Report as assigned

Required Skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of Intermediate Accounting II and Accounting Information Systems courses
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent data analysis skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Familiarity with advanced Microsoft Excel functions
  • Must be able to sit and stand for up to 8 hours
  • Must be able to lift and pull up to 20 lbs

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent grasp of Managerial Accounting and Cost Accounting material
  • Detail-oriented candidate
