Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Scheduler/Planner is to manage the scheduling of production and raw material consumption, analyze raw material levels, and manage purchase orders and overall inventories.  The Scheduler/Planner acts as a strategic business partner with Sales, Operations, Support staff and Procurement, and partners with Operations and Procurement to maintain sufficient levels of raw materials used throughout production.

Job Functions:  

  • Schedule multiple machines for efficient product flow to meet customer needs
  • Effectively execute last-minute schedule changes 
  • Communicate with Logistics team regarding any potential delays
  • Build strong relationship with Customer Service team
  • Analyze raw material requirements and determine the lowest cost scenario to fulfill order quantities
  • Responsible for monitoring raw materials and WIP inventory levels within established tolerances for items produced or purchased for the assigned operating department
  • Complete daily Board Shortage Report to coordinate board transfers from local outside warehouses into the plant
  • Responsible for communicating schedule changes to appropriate management and ensuring raw materials, WIP inventory and tolling are available to support the change
  • Performs functions of Material Master to build and maintain item numbers
  • Assist finance with revised pricing and corrects PO prices to avoid discrepancies on invoices
  • Responsible for compliance with all facility food safety, food defense, and quality policies
  • Must be supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Required Skills

Required Experience

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • High School Diploma required
  • SAP experience a plus
