Contributes to the effective operation of the Maintenance Department by implementation, expansion, and upkeep of the Predictive Maintenance Program (PDM). Work in conjunction with RCM Manager to coordinate repairs on equipment as needed for the reduction of unplanned downtime.
Must have the ability to comprehend and take responsibility for providing an effective and timely plan for repairs of complex troubleshooting issues involving refrigeration, electrical, mechanical or other specialized areas. In addition, directs activities of Maintenance Technicians in absence of the RCM Manager.
Job Functions:
1. Maintenance SAP work order management, continuous review and update Master Data in SAP to ensure it is accurate and functional. Identify work, plan and schedule work, preventative maintenance workflow, prepare parts kits (BOM) and audit work orders for quality.
2. Works closely with Maintenance Technicians to assign Work Orders for work to be completed. Works with Production Planner/Scheduler and Operations to schedule time needed for machine repairs prior to breakdowns to reduce unscheduled downtime.
3. Responsible for corporate maintenance scheduling of the MOP’s meetings and MOP’s protocol
4. Initiates Purchase Requisitions for repair parts or spare parts as needed, as well as initiating orders for parts to upgrade existing equipment. Update expected delivery dates and parts availability.
5. Point of reference for outside vendors arriving at the facility for all maintenance related task. Be responsible for outside contractor orientation and site safety protocol.
6. Responsible for all GR/GI of spare parts received or issued out of the storeroom or facility. This includes Inventory Management and Cycle Counts, generating Stock Inventory Number (SKU) and incorporate components into BOM and charge out materials from Central Stores to the respective department.
7. Conducts training for other Maintenance Department employees. Preparation work may involve attending seminars or training courses off company premises. Subjects may be any maintenance related or technical subjects.
8. Responsible for compliance with all facility food safety and quality policies and procedures including product safety (GMP’s)/Sanitation policies and procedures (SQF). Employee must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area in support of SQF/5’s and other company standards.
9. Must be supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork).
10. Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5’s, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes.
11. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Background Requirements:
Technical School/1 Year College, and/or 3 to 5 years of experience.
Specialized skills required are experience with varied computer programs, (i.e., Microsoft, SAP), complex mechanical systems, trending reports, and excellent communication abilities.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Occasional physical effort (e.g., continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending, etc.)
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to adverse conditions such as dust, noise, fumes, weather, poor lighting, or heavy machinery/equipment.
