The Manager Production Scheduler/Planner II is responsible for managing the plant’s production strategy to maximize efficiency and ensure customer demands are met.  The Manager Production Scheduler/Planner II will serve as the lead interface to the corporate planning team to resolve supply issues and maintain proper FG and WIP inventory balance within the facility.  This role will also manage board material supply to ensure plant manufacturing requirements are met.


Key Accountabilities


  • Develop, implement and maintain die-level production strategy within the facility, minimizing total cost, while ensuring customer demands are met
  • Analyze WIP and FG inventory levels and recommend production block sizes, understanding plant requirements and warehouse limitations
  • Manage daily die-block schedule. Communicate internally to ensure resources and raw materials are available to meet schedule.
  • Handle day-to-day communication with Supply Planners on schedule status and plant requirements. Ensure production orders are received timely and within agreed-upon parameters
  • Manage board supply, working directly with Supply Chain team to ensure plant requirements are met
  • Analyze equipment output rates to manage WIP inventory levels and maximize asset utilization
  • Serve as primary liaison to centralized Demand and Supply Planning teams
  • Work directly with Capacity Planner and S&OP team to reconcile plant schedule against plan and monthly outlook, while ensuring customer requirements are met
  • Reconcile production results against outlook and forecast model. Report discrepancies and recommend solutions for improving accuracy
  • Communicate product shortages and provide options and/or timelines for replenishing materials to customer service and other leadership personnel
  • Lead escalation process regarding supply issues and productivity concerns between Operations and Supply Planning teams. Work directly with Operations and S&OS leadership to resolve.
  • Work closely with Supply Planning and S&OP Manager to align provided SKU-level strategies with production facility budgets and working capital goals
  • Work with Scheduler and Planners to minimize potential inventory obsolescence and write-offs
  • Develop and present KPI reports to Plant Leadership and Planning teams
  • Travel to the Atlanta Corporate Office 30% of the time

Required Skills

  • Excellent process development capabilities
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP platforms, specifically SAP
  • Strong capability to understand manufacturing processes
  • Ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision
  • Continuous and versatile learner
  • Advanced Microsoft Office user, specifically Excel
  • Strong mathematical aptitude 

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree level education in General Business, Supply Chain, or related field required.
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in a Supply Chain function that includes demand, supply and inventory planning preferred.
  • APICS CPIM certification preferred
  • Experience in Paperboard Packaging a plus
