Position Summary

 

The Material Handler is to ensure that all materials are moved effectively in the plant, unload raw materials and properly stage materials within the facility using a powered fork truck and squeeze truck.  Shipment paperwork (BOLs, goods receipts, STOs) to be issued accurately and maintained for record keeping. 

 

Job Function: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Complete daily forklift inspection and document inspection results
  • Perform daily corrugated yard inventory and maintain inventory report
  • Unload trucks of corrugated and adhesive totes
  • Stage corrugated for case erectors
  • Operate four balers; properly load baling wire to ensure minimum of four wires per bale
  • Perform daily baler operator inspections and cleaning
  • Load scrap trucks
  • Issues BOLs for loaded scrap trucks
  • SAP knowledge to generate and complete Shipping/Receiving documentation, create and receive STO's for intercompany shipments
  • Provide monthly material inventories for corrugated and monthly core plug shipments
  • Receive bulk coating shipments

Required Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook
  • Candidates must be proficient in English, with the ability to communicate, read, and understand work-related instructions and safety procedures and requirements.

 

Required Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing experience.

 Safe Quality Food Responsibilities for all employees:

  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of GPI Forklift Certification
