JOB FUNCTIONS:  Job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Facilitate and champion the advancement of the fundamental principles of the reliability centered maintenance (RCM) program.
  • Use engineering principles to accurately scope jobs and plan maintenance work to increase overall equipment reliability.
  • Assist the failure analysis effort by helping implement corrective actions that are needed to prevent reoccurrence of equipment failure.
  • Maintain all levels of the SAP Plant Maintenance Module.
  • Investigate the feasibility of redesigning systems in which reoccurring equipment problems exists.
  • Work with the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Specialists to get proper level of feedback from them for completed jobs.
  • Define scope, cost and engineering needed for outage jobs.
  • Generate accurate work orders for all daily jobs and detailed scope as needed for daily jobs.
  • Determine if skills are available in-house, work with Maintenance Manager to maximize use of GPI personnel.
  • Work with the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Specialists to gain concurrence of plan details (manpower, tools, special considerations, etc.).
  • Visit job locations and gather firsthand data when developing estimates. Ensure plans accurately reflect scope needed.
  • Lead efforts to improve SAP database by developing/updating BOM’s on functional locations, equipment, and repetitive jobs.
  • Utilize SAP for the creation of task lists and maintenance plans to assist in job planning. Maintain all levels of the SAP Plant Maintenance Module.
  • Lead the development and institutionalization of weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance.
  • Provide accurate and detailed information to contractors and ensure they provide accurate and cost-effective estimates.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with core suppliers so that GPI’s interests are protected.
  • Ensure stores items are available and reserved for scheduled work.
  • Generate requisitions for items that are not store items.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Specialist the status of parts to facilitate their daily scheduling.
  • Utilize predictive data (vibration reports, oil analysis, etc.) to set priority for outage work.
  • Lead weekly reliability planning meeting to facilitate successful execution of future PM’s.
  • Ensure PM schedules and timelines are updated, published, and communicated prior to the PM.
  • Responsible for maintaining all safety notifications and work orders in SAP. Complete weekly safety report and distribute to all departments.
  • Ensure that RCM metric reports from SAP are generated at set frequencies.
  • Publish/distribute PM’s that are automatically generated through SAP.
  • Oversee and coordinates the maintenance and repair of all fork-trucks in the plant.

Required Skills

  • BS degree from a 4-year institution in engineering or related field preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical maintenance required.
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Excellent technical trouble shooting skills.
  • Excellent organization/project management skills.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required Experience

  • 5-7 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Prefer candidate who has demonstrated a successful process improvement track record.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of SAP required
