Title:  Internship - HSE/Operations Management

This position will focus on learning the various facets of the manufacturing value chain and managing through its challenges with timely solutions.  This is a spring co-op starting 1/9/23 and may extend into summer with positive performance.  Top performers will be recommended for the company's LDP program at the end of of the college tenure for long term permananet job placement.  

During the internship, job duties could include:

  • Assist in the investigation of incidents, prepare material, & gather evidence to determine the root cause
  • Examine the work environment for various physical, chemical, biological and environmental hazards
  • Implement necessary controls to ensure compliance with current safety and environmental regulations
  • Assist in developing & conducting health and safety trainings for employees as needed
  • Assist in developing/reviewing/revising safety and health programs, systems and procedures
  • Perform basic/routine duties in a wide range of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with the EHS standards along with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
  • Present to the department periodically and to senior leadership at the end of the internship

Required Skills

Eligible candidates will be/have:

  • Actively in sophomore year or higher in accredited college or university
  • Pursing a degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field
  • GPA in major greater or equal to 2.5
  • Pass an alcohol/drug screen before each co-op session

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Currently working on associates, undergraduate, four-year degree or post graduate program
  • Desire to learn manufacturing and leadership concepts
  • Needs to be a self-starter, self-directed, and willingness to take action to move forward with ideas
  • Ability to apply academic knowledge to real world work environments
