Title:  Maintenance Supervisor (Industrial/Manufacturing)

Job duties include but not limited to:

  • Prioritize and assign work orders for completion for 12-14 person plant maintenance team in a manufacturing environment; folding carton industry
  • Oversees leadership responsibilities for maintenance department for all shifts under the direction of the RCM Maintenance Department Manager
  • Determines if maintenance activity will be done in house or by an outside contractor and obtains quotes and estimates costs for maintenance activities
  • Requisitions materials and supplies such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts for maintenance activities
  • Administers and continually develops maintenance apprenticeship program.
  • Trains maintenance employees in methods, procedures, and use of equipment and work aids, such as blueprints, hand tools, and test equipment
  • Observes maintenance employees in work area and examines tools and equipment to detect unsafe conditions or violations of safety rules.
  • Recommends or initiates personnel actions and ensures policies are followed in such as performance reviews and corrective action
  • Oversees project planning for facility and process improvements.
  • Participates in identifying hiring needs; employee selection and training. Provides communication and motivation to maintenance team members by conveying departmental expectations and opportunities for improvements. Provides team leadership consistent with company vision, mission and culture.
  • Ensures finished work is completed in time frame and within budgetary constraints.
  • Establishes individual goals for team members in alignment with overall organization goals.
  • Instills professionalism and teamwork to the maintenance department through mentoring, leadership, and his actions.
  • Provide a safe and productive work environment including the lean manufacturing theories.
  • Participates in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Processes SAP notifications, including work orders, revision updates and TECO

Required Skills

  • Ability to effectively lead a team of highly skilled technicians
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing, production equipment and folding carton operation
  • Effective at time management and delegation to the team
  • Strong background in electrical and facility maintenance concepts
  • Lean/5S knowledgeable
  • OSHA certified in safety and emergency response a plus
  • Proficient with MicroSoft Office, Outlook ,and internet research skills
  • Experience with SAP preferred

Required Experience

  • 7-10 years of related maintenance experience in a converting facility is preferred
  • High School Diploma, GED equivalent required
  • Bachelor degree or higher preferred in Engineering, Business Administration or relevant degree program
  • Advanced level technical skills including hands on knowledge of advanced automation and printing systems
