Title:  Shipping/Production Supervisor

  • Directly supervise hourly shift employees in the daily production of the Production and Shipping Operation
  • Responsible for the planning and monitoring of production performance against key operating targets.
  • Ensures compliance to established customer quality and production standards.
  • Actively leads and participates in converting safety, housekeeping and lean manufacturing programs by ensuring goals are met within the department.
  • Meet quality/waste goals by ensuring all direct reports are properly trained on their equipment, following proper procedures, performing requisite inspections, and following up on suggested improvements.
  • Must possess strong problem-solving skills and be capable of leading the crew through troubleshooting processes to resolve operational issues and recognizes when additional resources are necessary.
  • Effectively communicate both up and down the organization on key issues (e.g. performance feedback, employee issues, overtime, etc.)
  • Ensures completion of all required paperwork, schedules, work orders, etc.
  • Verify adequate staffing and payroll approval for shift employees.

Required Skills

  • Ability to effectively lead a team of logistics and manufacturing employees
  • Effective at time management and delegation to the team
  • Six Sigma Lean/5S knowledgeable
  • OSHA certified in safety and emergency response a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and internet research skills
  • Experience with SAP and RFGen system experienced preferred
  • 2-5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing
  • High School Diploma, GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or Associates in Business Management or related field preferred (i.e. maintenance certificate, Ivy Tech, etc.)
