Title:  Group Leader - Cup Operator

Job Opening is on 2nd shift - 3pm - 11pm

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all machines in the Cup Forming department.

Responsible for all personnel on shift.

Ability to keep the cup forming machines running at maximum operating speed.

Ability to make all required adjustments as needed with a minimum of machine down time.

Maintain good housekeeping practices within the department.

Re-train current employees as necessary in the operation and maintenance of the machines.

Assign all employees their daily jobs and machine assignments.

Ensure that all paperwork and logs are completed and properly maintained on all equipment within the department.

Give and document a safety briefing to employees before the beginning of each shift.

Manage employee breaks and lunch breaks to ensure maximum production on the machines and that all employees get their authorized breaks.

Ensure that all machines are operated safely and to their maximum potential.

Immediately notifies the Shift Supervisor of all accidents.

Immediately notifies the shift supervisor when a machine goes down for any reason other than scheduled maintenance.

Ensure that all machines are running the product that they are scheduled to run.

Brief the incoming lead operator on current jobs and machine status.

Perform a joint inspection of the department with the incoming lead and corrects deficiencies.

Check all jobs for quality problems and takes whatever steps are necessary for corrections, while minimizing machine down time.

Ensure that the operators follow all safety rules, regulations, and policies.

Coordinate and assist operators on the change over of all new jobs.

Coordinate all Cup Forming personnel in the operation and maintenance of the machines.

Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Skills

High school diploma or General Education degree (GED); vocational school; demonstrated mechanical ability; six or more months related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds.

Regularly push or pull a pallet jack with 1000 pounds load.

Will work near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to extreme heat.

Regularly required to stand for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.

Good hand -eye coordination is essential.

The noise level is usually loud.
