To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES Keep his/her machine at maximum operating speed making all adjustments with minimum downtime Assist the Pressman in the function of his/her duties Properly position loads on board and load the board into the feeder section Fill wash up containers with the proper chemicals Receive instructions and directions from Pressman and Press Supervisor Train for the Pressman position Operate the printing press for breaks and absence of the Pressman Closely monitor press at all times Perform preventive maintenance on the press Maintain a safe working environment at all times Perform other duties as assigned by the Pressman and Press Supervisor

Required Skills

High school education or GED equivalent; Mechanically inclined; or equivalent combination of education and Experience Regularly required to stand for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. Good hand -eye coordination is essential. Required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Regularly push or pull a pallet cart with 1500 pounds load. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and normal color vision. Frequently exposed to fumes, or dust. Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to extreme heat. The noise level is usually loud. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Write simple sentences. Apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide, in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
