JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.
- Provide leadership to the plant in the preparation and execution of all internal and external Quality Systems audits (including GFSI, HAVI, RBI, Nissin, Chain of Custody (COC) and any other audits mandated by our customers)
- Plan, develop, and implement systems supporting successful completion of audits and track corrective actions from post-audit reports
- Develop, implement, and maintain a Quality Systems audit for the plant based around GFSI standards
- Participate in all internal and external audits for the facility and other Foodservice plants as required
- Ensure compliance of all Quality Systems requirements for the plant
- Coordinate special customer promotions
- Ensure Quality training materials are relevant, updated, and maintained
- Performance management of all direct reports
- Must be able to understand a wide variety of processes in the facility without being an expert in each.
- Must be able to use and maintain employee time keeping management system.
- Will be responsible for carrying out job duties of the Quality Manager in their absence.
- Stay current on all the customer and audit agencies’ requirements; keep plant informed of changes and ensure compliance; continually improve upon our QA Systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- 2-5 years of quality or manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience with ISO9000 concepts preferred
- Experience with Food Safety Standards, HACCP, and audit processes
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor’s degree (Technical related field preferred) or;
- Compensatory closely related work experience required in lieu of degree.
SKILLS:
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and communicate with Site Leadership Team and various manufacturing and staff departments at the plant, and with groups outside the plant, (other plants’ personnel, division Quality, vendors)
- Must be able to utilize time management & multi-tasking skills to keep up with the demands of coordinating all the Quality Systems and Audit activities.
- Software Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
SCHEDULE DEMANDS:
- Typical Supervisor schedule consists of an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
- Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sitting, walking or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
- Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
- Use of various office equipment, hand and electrical tools or equipment.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment in designated areas (Safety Shoes, Hearing Protection, Hair & Beard Netting).
- Working in various temperatures & humidity levels depending on building & department (not all areas are temperature controlled throughout facilities).
- Ability to work overtime (greater than 40 hours per week)
- Ability to work any shift, including 12 hours, evenings, and weekends
