IT SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN

 

The Graphic Packaging International Portland plant is an international supplier of flexible food packaging structures. The plant core processes are continuous web including multi-color flexo-printing, extrusion coating, and water-based coatings. Finished products are in roll form and to support this we have a department of finishing equipment dedicated to convert large internal rolls to final customer specifications.

The IT Systems Technician is responsible for production environment end user support for on-premises and surrounding areas. Provides a variety of computer hardware and software services to end users for the operation and use of computer hardware and software and related peripherals.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Primary

  • Administration of Microsoft Office 365 including SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, and One Drive for Business
  • Maintain OS / Application patch levels on production client Windows and Mac end points
  • Installs, sets up or relocates, configures, troubleshoots, and supports PC/server hardware and software for users
  • Installs, sets up or relocates, configures, troubleshoots, and supports network devices, such as: PC’s, Printers, Timeclocks
  • Performance monitoring and troubleshooting for production services and end points
  • Assist with troubleshooting in resolving IT issues for users
  • Troubleshooting for room systems, including microphones, and cameras
  • Assist with supporting Network infrastructures
  • Assist supporting WorkBrain clocks, IP Phones and Mobile Devices
  • Assist supporting Access Control, Security Camera, and Digital Signage end points
  • Assist with Backup and Replication technologies
  • Work with Corporate IT to resolve problems
  • Provide after hours and weekend support for production systems as needed
  • Assist with IT audits as necessary
  • Maintains IT hardware inventory and reconciles IT budget with Finance

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school degree or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or related field preferred
  • Previous experience as a help desk technician, computer technician, or IT support person
  • Experience supporting connectivity, AV, personal computers, and laptops
  • General computer network operating systems and architecture
  • Experience supporting VOIP telephony systems
  • Must be self-motivated to stay on top of current technologies and solve problems across many different areas of IT
  • Good knowledge of products and tools for all aspects of system management, including backup, network/system monitoring, scripting, automation, and security; especially performance monitoring and identification of bottlenecks
  • Experience with deploying desktop images to the enterprise
  • Working knowledge of and hands-on working experience with network configurations, services, routing and related protocols (TCP/IP, SMTP, HTTP, FTP, DNS, DHCP etc...)
