Title:  Warehouse Operator

The Graphic Packaging International Portland plant is an International supplier of flexible food packaging structures. The plant core processes are continuous web including multi-color flexo-printing, extrusion coating, and water-based coatings. Finished products are in roll form and to support this we have a department of finishing equipment dedicated to converting large internal rolls to final customer specifications.

 

We currently have an immediate opening for an experienced, career-minded Warehouse Operator to join our team. The position will be active in developing a culture of an incident-free workplace, continuous improvement of equipment reliability, and reducing costs to support the business's success. The plant is a 24/7 operation. Successful applicants must be available to work all shifts and overtime key Responsibilities (job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following):

  • Load and unload truck according to standard process and safe work practices        
  • Handle incoming and outgoing shipments by checking them physically against the shipping document
  • Check products for defects and accuracy
  • Ensure posting of outbound deliveries by processing BOL and checking out drivers.
  • Load truck based on predetermined load plans to ensure the safety of a shipment
  • Ensure that serial and batch numbers match the product
  • Pull, stage and ship finished goods
  • Process customers’ orders by ensuring that the right shipment is on its way
  • Perform shipment receiving duties while ensuring the right item has been delivered
  • Report and replace any defective item prior to packing
  • Prepare and paste labels on shipments
  • Verify the accuracy of orders by matching them with quantities and types
  • Ensure that items are properly packed and labeled
  • Operate forklift/Rollgrab to transport shipments from the storage area to the truck
  • Properly manage Warehouse space to ensure FIFO guidelines are met and space if utilized according to good Warehouse management practices.
  • Ensure that the warehouse is cleaned and maintained at all times

Required Skills

  • Good organizational/time management skills
  • Ability to work independently, accurately, and safely under pressure
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions and safety guidelines
  • Critical thinking skills      
  • Self-motivated and able to plan work
  • Be able to push, pull, bend and lift 50#
  • Must strictly adhere to Graphic Packaging International’s Commitment to SQF (Safe Quality Foods) and HACCP Requirements, Food Safety, and Food Defense.
  • Must be able to work 8 or 12 hours as required.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required.
