JOB SUMMARY: the Human Resource and HS&E Associate Manager will support all facets of human resources for the plant including recruiting, policy interpretation, reporting of information, employee and labor relations, benefits administration, hourly pay administration. This position is responsible for implementing and executing safety, health and environmental programs that effectively minimizes accidents and property loss.  Responsibilities also include the full compliance and enforcement of all safety activities required by OSHA and other regulatory agencies, federal, state-worker compensation laws, and corporate policies.

General Purpose of Job:

  • Provides Human Resource support in areas such as staffing, employee relations, training/development, and other related areas.
  • Lead employee relation issues with plant management to affect prompt and appropriate resolution to company policies and helps to ensure alignment and consistent application of policies.
  • Manage all FMLA and STD claims for the Prosperity facility.
  • Source qualified candidates through advertising, approved recruiters, and other recruiting sources and manages the job posting process to ensure timely posting of vacant hourly and salary positions
  • Manage employee life cycle throughout employment
  • Manages and plans special events and employee awards
  • Complies with company record retention policies for both HR and HSE
  • Manages all internal and external communications and compliance documentation for HR and HSE according to company policy, state and federal laws
  • Directs, monitors, and performs accident investigations, safety inspections and audits.
  • Develop Safety Leading Indicators; lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for all First Aids (FA’s) and Near Misses (NM’s).
  • Utilize information from the Employee Observation program to promote positive change in the plant culture. 
  • Promotes a safe working environment and safe work practices. Ensuring employees adhere to Safety Policies.
  • Develops safety-training schedules and creates awareness to support safety initiatives.
  • Develops Safety Programs: Hazard Communications and MSDS’s. Lock Out/Tag Out, Ergonomics, Emergency Organization, Fire Prevention, PIT Safety, Confined Space, Personal Protective Equipment, etc...
  • Manages the Workers Comp and Return-To-Work Program.
  • Analyze, prepare, and maintain mandatory/regulatory related safety and environmental reports and records.
  • Maintain facility Behavioral Job Analysis (BJA’s) and ensure work systems are being followed.
  • Lead the Safety Committee
  • Manage and oversee the facilities Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Support training of hourly staff; identify training opportunities, certification process which will align with CI efforts.
  • Assist in the budget planning process.
  • Must be supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork).
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree from and accredited four-year College or University with a minimum of 5 years’ experience., or combination of education, training and work experience.

CSP, IH, OSHA, SHRM or PHR certifications preferred

Superior verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, HRIS systems

Work involves confidential and sensitive information. Discretion is essential.

Strong analytical and organizational skills, detail orientation, and interpersonal skills.

Self-directed with a demonstrated ability to implement creative solutions while working under pressure.

Ability to collaborate and communicate with all levels of employees and management.

This role requires an individual to quickly change and adapt to new priorities.

 

 

 

Pay Range:   $78,450.00 - $104,600.00
