Direct Continuous Improvement initiatives for the Prosperity, SC Extrusion Facility. This involves championing all activities required to reduce unscheduled downtime (operations and maintenance) and paper loss on the extruder. The major objective is to improve people and processes to remove cost from the system and to improve our product quality so that we are more competitive in the marketplace as our business grows.

 

Job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead efforts to improve the overall efficiency of the extruder by focusing all resources at their disposal on the efficient execution of planned work with direct involvement with the:
    • Maintenance team
    • Preventive maintenance program
    • Daily data preparation for management review
    • Corrective action plans
    • Capital
  • Champions data-driven failure analysis, identification, and resolution.
  • Champions the development of work systems to sustain improvements.
  • Develop a closed-looped quality-driven system to reduce process variation and ensure plant compliance.
  • Executes and manages CI initiatives including RCFA’s, A3’s, Six Sigma, Process Improvement, and 5S/LEAN projects.
  • Provide a leading role in the Preventive/Predictive Maintenance program. Conduct activities and install systems that reduce unplanned downtime and the number of incidents requiring an RCFA.
    • Initial focus will be on reliability and could require direct supervision of the maintenance department.
  • Communicate plant quality expectations and monitor performance relative to the objectives in a timely and effective manner.
  • Acts as a change agent to drive continuous improvement of production and service.
  • Actively solicits input from all employees to aid in accomplishing the above listed action.
  • Shares in the responsibility for compliance with all facility product safety/sanitation policies and procedures. Must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of the facility in support of companywide product stewardship standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or a related field or a minimum of a 2-year degree with work experience that demonstrates progressively more responsible positions.
  • Two or more years of leadership in Engineering Management, Production Management, and/or Project Management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred minimim of 3 years supervisory experience in manufacturing. 
  • Strong background in maintenance/PM system management or leadership
  • Paper or extrusion experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Must be certified in Kempner Tregoe (systematic problem solving) or attain certification as part of selection for this position.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SAP, MINITAB, and Microsoft Office software. Advanced Excel knowledge required – query knowledge, sumifs, charts and data organization.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and ability to analyze data to make calculated corrections to reduce waste, increase productivity, and increase quality performance.
  • The candidate must exhibit the ability and a desire to make reasoned decisions on actions to be taken, based upon his/her knowledge and experience, with less than complete information on the current situation.
  • The candidate must take a strong position on well-reasoned conviction and be always uncompromising in the quest for quality of output by corporate principles.
  • The candidate must be action-oriented and rise to meet challenges quickly, sometimes with minimal planning.

Schedule Demands

  • General schedule is Monday-Friday during normal business hours but includes early mornings, nights, and/or weekends, and must be punctual while doing so.
  • Occasional travel is required which includes flying.

 

Pay Range:   $104,325.00 - $139,100.00
