MISSION / SUMMARY:
This Sr. Reliability Engineer (Automation Technician) will be a working shift leader to aid in automation troubleshooting and support and leading hourly maintenance on shift employees through various daily needs. They will provide onsite and on-shift process control support throughout the mill.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and diagnostic checks on PLC’s and instrumentation.
- Knowledge of AC and DC control systems
- Ability to be able to use Industrial test equipment.
- Ability to understand industrial networking.
- Ability to Read drawings such as electrical schematics, P&ID’s (control loops), and ladder logic as an aid in troubleshooting.
- Maintain programming, hardware networking and communication systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot control systems. Control systems include PLCs, instrumentation, networked controllers, process controllers, hydraulic control valves, pneumatic control valves and AC or DC motors and drives.
- Must be self-starter and must demonstrate the initiative to identify and solve problems. Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Solid verbal communication and listening skills to work effectively with various personnel in the plant such as production operators, supervisors, maintenance electricians/mechanics, and engineers.
- Ability to train maintenance technicians on control systems.
- Ability to create, Evaluate and implement technical notes, SOPs, preventive/predictive maintenance programs on A.C. and D.C. motors, drives and other electrical equipment.
- Transferring drive parameters for AC or DC motor drive replacement
- Ability to manage force/jumper logs including follow up actions to the logs.
- Other duties as assigned.

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
- Prior Delta V, Rockwell, Valmet DNA, ABB or Honeywell systems experience preferred.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:
- Graduate of Rockwell AAM Rockwell Program, or bachelor’s or associate degree in an engineering discipline, controls engineering preferred.
SKILLS:
- Process control engineering and troubleshooting.
- Strong organizational skills
- Quality orientation and attention to detail strong interpersonal and communication skills
- An ability to manage multiple priorities and strong team player.

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:
- General schedule is a rotating 12-hour shift with flexibility to adapt schedule as needed based on business needs.
- Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 12-hours.
- Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
- Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.

Pay Range: $84,170.00 - $112,195.00
