Cup Operator:
- $5,004 Retention Bonus for New Hires and Qualifying Rehires
- Starting At $20.84, progressing to $21.41

JOB SUMMARY
Maintain operation of paper cup machines producing paper cups. Duties include: cleaning machines and surroundings, starting and stopping finishers, loading blanks on to finishers.
WORK DEVICES
Needle nose pliers, allen wrenches, channel lock pliers, putty knives, paper towels, rags, spray bottles, compressed air guns, utility knife, broom, mop, ergo tug, and other various hand tools.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
- Perform all duties in a safe and orderly manner.
- Be engaged, involved, and participate in department safety meetings and initiatives.
- Ensure equipment meets safety standards, monitoring throughout the shift.
- Observe, mitigate and/or report unsafe acts or conditions.
- Follow all proper ZES/IES requirements when working on equipment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisor, group leader, peers, other employees, and oncoming shift.
- Promote and demonstrate a positive work environment.
- Attend and participate in daily team production meetings as directed by poly cup department leadership
- Assist in production of product consistent with established food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
- Maintain 5S in work area.
- Complete shut-down and start-up procedures on PMC finishers, baggers, and CE’s.
- Load blanks on paper cup finishers.
- Operate ergo tug to move blank carts when retrieving and returning blank carts.
- Relieve cup packers during break and lunch periods. Assist material handler and padlocker operator, as required.
- Help maintain bottom stock ink jet printers
- Stop, start, and monitor operation of machines, fluids, and glue while maintaining cleanliness, ensuring machines continue running properly.
- Remove excess damaged paper stock from the machine tops and clear bottom paper stock from scrap tube.
- Empty spoilage boxes from both side wall stock and bottom stock continuously during the shift.
- Perform quality checks on product: fiber teardown, print, scuffs, and proper date code.
- Perform login, code downtime, and enter make ready info in Ignition software during shift.
- Hang butt rolls on finishers to allow for a new bottom stock roll to be installed by machine tender.
- Splice and thread bottom stock through bottom punch station.
- Complete a machine operator finishing rounds checklist.
- Notify Shift Supervisor or Group Leader of problems that arise beyond the scope of cup operator’s duties.
- Once qualified, instruct and train others.
- Manage workload as necessary to ensure production requirements are met.
- Fulfill overtime requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic mechanical background and skill to perform technical tasks; Able to use hand tools properly and safely.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment
- Demonstrated organizational skills and detail orientation.
- Must be self-motivated, and able to work well with all levels of personnel, individually or in a team environment, and take direction from others to accomplish goals.
- Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation. This includes walking or standing for extended periods of time up to 12-hours; lifting up to 50lbs; carrying up to 30 lbs.; lowering up to 30 lbs. from a height of 4 feet; and work in various temperatures & humidity levels.
