Job Summary:
Ensure use of high-quality ink with the right color, passing the PMs color matching book. Duties also include ensuring enough ink is prepared and properly sequenced and staged to ensure completion of scheduled jobs; mixing inks; and proper staging of inks on the press, and storage of inks.

Description of Job Tasks:

  • Perform all duties in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Actively engaged, involved, and current in SWO process; Participate in safety meetings and safety tours.
  • Ensure production of products consistent with established food safety, sanitation and quality standards.
  • Mix ink.
  • Proof ink (correct, strengthen or rebuild drums with work-off ink).
  • Correct ink toning problems on the press.
  • Copy colors from print releases.
  • Stage jobs in staging area.
  • Properly store ink, weighing it on the dispenser scales.
  • Help reschedule board.
  • As shipments of drums are delivered, receive it to the dispenser computer.
  • Change out the dispenser ink drums when they are empty.
  • Ensure work areas are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Once qualified, instruct and train other operators.
  • Manage workload as necessary to ensure production requirements are met.
  • Complete shut-down and start-up procedure, as necessary.
  • Communicate with oncoming shift to ensure continuity of production, quality and safety.
  • Fulfill overtime requirements necessary to ensure production requirements are met.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties, as assigned.
  • Assist in other areas or perform other duties, as assigned.

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Must be 18 years’ old
  • Solid computer skills.
  • Basic math skills (decimal & metric system) including multiply/divide/fractions/volumetric measurement.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and detail orientation.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to follow verbal or written instructions.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation. This includes: Standing and/or walking for extended periods of time, up to 12-hours; Lifting up to 50 lbs. to a height of 4 feet; Visual acuity and depth perception; Working in various temperatures & humidity levels.
